Alex Whalen joined The McManus Group in January 2021 and serves as Director of Federal Affairs. For the past several years, he has led advocacy efforts for multiple coalitions and clients, briefing Members of Congress and staff and building bipartisan support for client priorities. He plays a key role in developing and executing strategic policy and political advocacy on behalf of the firm’s clients. Alex maintains strong relationships with the House and Senate Republican caucuses and brings a deep understanding of federal health care policy and the legislative process.

Prior to joining The McManus Group, Alex worked as a Data Analyst for the Republican National Committee during the 2020 election cycle. He also interned with the Washington, D.C. offices of Pfizer Inc. and Bristol Myers Squibb, supporting government relations, PAC, and regulatory functions. Alex also served as a Congressional Intern for Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA).

Alex graduated in May 2020 from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Government and Politics and a minor in General Business. He grew up in Dallas, TX and Bucks County, PA.
